Shaves have been one of humanity’s–especially men’s–best friend. People, often men, use shaves to make themselves look good and clean and to appear presentable. Shaves have been here since the Bronze Age when metals became common material for instruments and tools. A shave essentially consists of blades that are used to cut and remove unwanted hair from several parts of the body, commonly the beard of men. Variety of this tool include the disposable plastic-bodied ones, the metal ones, the battery operated razors and mens electric shavers. For women, this is used to remove pubic hair especially in the bikini line.

Because people nowadays always seem to be in a hurry, the widely used kind is mens electric shavers. Compared to the disposable ones, these shaves last longer and end up being less costly in the long run. Compared to metal shaves, an electric razor is definitely faster and the results are cleaner. You also do not have to constantly replace the head. Electric razors also provide less probability of unwanted cuts. Although it needs care when used because it uses electricity, it is still preferred by most people.

If you are using an electric shave to keep yourself clean, it is a must to keep it hairless and sanitary during and after every use. Since the head is not replaced regularly, you can clean it yourself so that the next time you use it, it can still cut through your hair nice and smoothly. If you do not clean it often, hair strands, dried soap particles, and other small objects may get stuck in it. It will be harder to clean the next time around. In this case, your electric shave will be less efficient than it ought to be. So, you might as well purchase another one. Taking care of and cleaning your electric shave well will spare you from the additional cost and unhygienic hairy looks.

First thing to do is to make sure that you unplug the electric shave. You do not want to get anyone electrocuted right? Then carefully detach the head. Check the gaskets. It is located under the cutter head. Check for cracks where hair strands and dirt can accumulate. If it has cracks and unwanted objects have piled up in it, you must now replace it with a new one.

The very important part of the cleaning process is removing the hair and other objects in the cutter block or the main part of the electric shave which is used to shave hair off. You can use a brush for this. Some electric shaves come with brushes made especially for this purpose.

There are some particles that cannot be removed by the brushing. So you need to soak the head in a soap solution. There are also other special solutions for this purpose. Rinse the head with the solution and make sure to shake off the unwanted particles.

To assure that the blades will not get rusty, apply a contact solution and wipe each blade using a piece of paper. Double check for remaining unwanted particles. Repeat the procedure until all particles are removed.

For finishing touches, spray the foil gently with a head lubricant to minimize friction and damage. The last step would be returning the head back to its rightful position.

Cleaning mens electric shavers is easy to do, but it must be done regularly so that your shaver’s performance will not degrade drastically.

My Fiance is hunting for jobs with a job placement agency. A lady from the agency takes him to fill out applications and hand in his resume. A few times a week she drives him to appointments for interviews. She is constantly bitching to him about how he needs to shave better and get a close shave. He uses an electric beard shaver twice a day and still she complains about it. His face hurts so much from shaving! It is becoming frustrating to him. He is thinking of stopping the job hunts and just give up! He thinks regular razors are too expensive for good quality ones that you use with shaving cream. So to help him what kinds work well and are inexpensive? HELP PLEASE!
Yes he tried regular razors before and said he didn’t do well shaving a long time ago when he was younger. Maybe he never did learn properly how to do it. Thanks for the Youtube idea!
